Image Optimizer

Auto optimizes for the web. Adjust only if you need to.

Optimize images for websites without guessing at quality

Large photos can increase the size of a page even when they are displayed in a small space. Image Optimizer prepares images for web use by choosing a practical output size and quality, then lets you compare the result against the original. Add a single image or several images, inspect details with the draggable before-and-after divider, and download when the result looks right.

How to optimize an image

  1. Drop, paste or choose JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or BMP images that your browser can decode.
  2. Start with Auto: WebP, a maximum dimension of 2560 pixels and balanced quality. The tool does not enlarge smaller images. Use Adjust only when you need a different format, dimension limit or quality.
  3. Compare the original and optimized preview. Download the selected result, or download the batch as a ZIP or separate files.

Compression or format conversion?

Use this optimizer if the goal is to make images web-ready, including resizing and compression. If your image already has the right dimensions and you only need to change its format, use Image Converter instead. If you need to hide a name, face or detail in a screenshot first, open Image Masker.

Image processing stays on your device

Your images are processed locally in your browser. The original files stay in the current session, and each adjustment uses the original image. Image files are not uploaded to IT Drawer.

When no resizing is needed and the encoded result is not smaller, the optimizer keeps the original bytes, so the download may retain its original format.

Common questions

Which image formats can I add?

You can add JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, and BMP images. Decoding support depends on your browser.

Can I keep the original image format?

Yes. Choose Original format in Adjust. JPG, PNG, and WebP can be encoded in the browser; other accepted formats are kept as original files when that option is selected.

Will Image Optimizer enlarge a small image?

No. Auto applies a maximum dimension and does not upscale images below that limit.

Are my images sent to a server?

No. The image decoding, resizing and encoding happen in your browser; image files are not uploaded to IT Drawer.

How can I tell whether the optimization looks acceptable?

Use the before-and-after divider and preview zoom to inspect edges, text and fine details. Preview zoom does not change the exported image dimensions or quality.

How do I download multiple images?

Download all creates a ZIP for a batch, or downloads the image directly when there is only one. Open the adjacent options button to choose ZIP or separate files.

Are my images stored after I leave?

No. Images stay in the current browser session. Download your results before closing or reloading the page.
