Convert PDF pages to JPG or PNG images
A PDF is convenient for reading a document, but a slide, page or diagram may be easier to insert into another app as an image. PDF to Image renders the entire visible PDF page as a JPG or PNG. Choose the pages you need, set the output resolution and download one image or a ZIP when converting several pages.
Choose PNG or JPG and an appropriate DPI
- PNG: useful for pages with fine lines, text and diagrams where lossless image output is preferable.
- JPG: useful when file size matters and the page is mostly photographic. JPG uses lossy compression.
- 72 DPI: smaller output for basic on-screen use.
- 150 DPI: a middle-ground resolution for many documents and presentation uses.
- 300 DPI: higher pixel resolution for work that needs more detail, subject to the tool's canvas limits.
Higher DPI creates more pixels and can require more memory; choose only as much resolution as your task needs.
How to convert a PDF page to an image
- Choose one PDF and select the pages to render.
- Choose PNG or JPG, then set 72, 150 or 300 DPI. Adjust JPG quality when applicable.
- Create the images and download the result. One page becomes a single image; several pages can be downloaded in a ZIP.
The conversion captures the visible appearance of each whole page, not the individual embedded images inside a PDF. Searchable text, links and forms do not carry over to image files. Need a document made from pictures instead? Use Image to PDF.
Common questions
Can I convert only certain pages?
Yes. Select the pages you want instead of converting the entire document.
Is PNG or JPG better for PDF pages with text?
PNG is often preferable for sharp text and linework; JPG can be smaller for photographic pages but introduces lossy compression.
Do the images retain searchable PDF text?
No. Output files are raster images of pages, so PDF text selection, links and form interactivity are not retained.
Can I extract a photograph embedded inside a PDF without the page background?
No. This tool renders whole pages; it does not extract embedded image assets.
